Applewood Towers

This senior affordable housing community consists of 100-units operating under a project based Section 8 HAP contract. This property was built in 1983 and acquired in 2024 with the allocation of approximately $22M in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and $22M in Tax-Exempt Bonds in conjunction with Applewood Towers II.

During the rehabilitation, the scope of work consisted of a full renovation of all 100 units, including upgrading the kitchens and bathrooms. This included new Energy Star stainless steel appliances, new vinyl plank flooring, new low threshold showers, new cabinets, and quartz countertops. The scope also included a new roof, window replacement, refurbishing of the building envelope, parking lot resurfacing, office and common area updates, and LED enhanced lighting and new paint throughout the building. In addition, a new community building was constructed between Applewood Towers and Applewood Towers II that features a gathering area for residents from both properties, a fitness room, an activity center, a state of the art kitchen, and screened-in-porch.
